UGC NET 2022 Exam Schedule
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the UGC-National Eligibility Test (NET) December 2021 and June 2022 (Merged Cycles) for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor on 09, 11, 12 July 2022 & 12, 13, 14 August 2022, in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

UGC NET 2022 Application Form
UGC NET registration was over on May 31, 2022, for June 2022 and December 2021 exam cycles. Candidates now have to wait for the December 2022 exam cycle notification and application. NET exam registration can be done in online mode only. Candidates can fill out the UGC NET application form by following the given steps:
- Step 1: Visit the website- ugcnet.nta.nic.in
- Step 2: Click on the ‘Application form UGC NET Dec 2020 & June 2021 cycles’ link
- Step 3: Click on the ‘New Registration’
- Step 4: Enter the required details and complete the registration
- Step 5: Fill out the complete application form
- Step 6: Upload scanned pictures of passport size photo (10-200 kb) and signature (4-30 kb). Both the images should be in JPEG format
- Step 7: Pay the UGC NET application fee (Gen – Rs 1000; OBC/EWS – Rs 500; SC/ST/PwD/ Transgender – Rs 250)
- Step 8: Save and submit the form

UGC NET 2022 Application Fee
The application fee for the UGC NET 2022 exam is different for all categories. Candidates have to pay UGC NET Application Fee after completing the application. The application fee is not refundable or transferable once paid. The category-wise fee details are mentioned below:
- General/Unreserved: Rs. 1100/-
- OBC-NCL: Rs. 550/-
- SC/ST/PwD/Transgender: Rs. 275/-
UGC NET 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who want to apply for the NET Exam 2022 must qualify for the Eligibility Criteria prescribed by UGC for NET exam eligibility criteria 2022. UGC NET Educational Qualification
Candidates who possess a post-graduation degree are eligible for NTA NET Exam. Candidates who are in the final year of their post-graduation can appear for the exam but They have to produce their degree at the time of admission. CA/CS/ICWA is considered equivalent to the PG Degree. A chartered accountant is now eligible for the NET exam.

UGC NET 2022 Age Limit
UGC NET Age Limit 2022 is different for JRF and Assistant Professor. The age of candidates applying for JRF must be 31 years, whereas there is no age limit for Assistant Professor. Check out the age limit for both the post and varied categories from the above link.
UGC NET Reservation Policy
The reservation policy of the Government of India is applicable to UGC-NET as well. According to this, in the Central Universities and Institutions which are deemed to be Universities, 10% of the seats are reserved for the category General-Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS), 15% of the seats are reserved for the category Scheduled Caste(SC), 7.5% for the category Scheduled Tribe(ST) and 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non Creamy layer”(OBC-NCL).
Each category will have 4 (four)% reservations horizontally for Persons with Disabilities(PwD) as defined in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act,2016) (source-Press Release by UGC).
UGC NET Salary
UGC NET Salary includes both UGC JRF salary and UGC Assistant Professor salary. Candidates must go through the detailed UGC NET Qualified Salary, job profile, and information about various options after the exam.
UGC NET JRF Fellowship:
- For the first two years, the fellowship of INR 31,000/– + HRA per month (depends on different institutes)
- For the next three years, the fellowship of INR 35,000/– + HRA per month (depends on different institutes)
